Anti Pest Measures

ANTI PEST MEASURES – NO MORE SQUIRRELS OR BIRDS IN YOUR ROOF

We supply and fit a large range of anti pest measures.
If you have birds or squirrels nesting in your roof space give us a call. We have vast experience in the safe removal of these unwelcome guests and can also remove old nests.

Typical places you might see them are:

  • Underneath guttering
  • Inside and underneath ridge tiles
  • Behind fascia boards
  • Inside the loft
  • Holes in mortar in the gable ends of the roof

Here is a typical example of an anti bird product. A versatile eaves filler comb, designed to protect against birds, vermin and debris. Fixed to the fascia board after the removal of the bottom row of tiles, it still allows air flow and ventilation to the roof space.

Anti bird measures such as the ‘bird comb’ are fitted underneath the tile onto the fascia board.

The combs then fill up the gaps left by the profile of the tile to ensure the birds cannot get inside to nest.

We also supply and fit plastic eaves protectors

Plastic eaves protectors are designed to support the roofing felt and protect the fascia board from weather and pests, making sure that all the rain dripping from the bottom tiles is deposited into the gutter and not onto you fascias.

Eaves protectors can be fitted in combination with bird combs where necessary.

If you have a tiled roof and have noticed water stains on your fascias or internal damp and mould, it may be caused by two things:

  • A lack of insulation at the edge of your roof in the loft, often its impossible for the loft insulator to get into the corners of your loft from the inside. This can leave the outside edges of you ceiling totally un-insulated.
  • Worn or ripped felt near the gutter line.

In this case we can remove the damaged felt and insulate any sparse or missing areas before fitting the plastic eaves and replacing the torn felt in the same way as pictured below.
